Yes, you heard me, it’s possible to get a push notification on your iDevice when a new track is added to TTRCustoms. How? Well, it’s quite easy actually.

First of all, you’ll need an app called boxcar, so take your iDevice, open up the AppStore and search for boxcar and downlaod it. It’s free so don’t worry about this costing you money or anything.

Now open up the app. Since this is the first time running the app you’ll be prompted to add a service, if not, click the Add a Service button. As a service choose Email Account. It’ll let you customize some settings, you will probably want to give it a name like “New TTRCustoms Track”. Click save.

Boxcar should now have sent you an email to your iTunes store adress. Open your mailbox and look for it (it might be in spam). On the second line of that email you’ll see your boxcar email adress. Copy this adress to your clipboard.

Now go to TTRCustoms and click “sign up”. Once there, fill in the boxcar email adress that’s on your clipboard.

Only moments later, you’ll get a notification from boxcar. Open the app again and go to the notification. You’ll see the next sentence: “Activate your registration to TTR Customs - CODE”.
Now’s the tricky bit. Copy the url http://funmoments.nl/Customs/signUpEmail.php?activate= into your browser, and after the = sign type your CODE you saw in the boxcar notification. Press enter and you’re done! Next time a track is added to TTRCustoms boxcar will notify you about it.

Once this is set up, you might want to unsubscribe with your normal email adress. This is now possible thanks to the unsubscribe script I finally coded last night and this morning and can be done by going to the Sign Up page and clicking “unsubscribe”.
